Voobly announces partnership with World Series of Video Games
The World Series of Video Games WSVG and Voobly have announced today a partnership deal for the next 3 (three) years. The partnership will cover the organization of live events and co-hosted online championships, for Microsoft’s Age of Empires 2 and Age of Mythology games. With this partnership, World Series of Video Games becomes a sponsor of all of Voobly’s competitions and events.
This agreement will enhance the position in the gaming market for both companies.
The World Series of Video Games, which has recently announced its worldwide re-launch,will supply infra-structure and equipments required for these gaming events and will support all online championships and live streamings. One of the main goals of the partnership is to increase the online and offline audiences for Age of Empires 2 and Age of Mythology games.
Despite the fact that both these games were launched more than a decade ago, they still have a massive community of dedicated gamers and fans that play competitively, on a daily basis.
Voobly, which is the leading company in Age of Empires championships, features more than $100.000,00 (one hundred thousand) US Dollars prize money per season, thanks to generous sponsors, and host many smaller community contributed tournaments on a regular basis for professional and casual age of empires 2 gamers.
More information about the championships, being planned by WSVG and Voobly, will be disclosed soon.
Good news to all players and fans out there!

I am pleased to announce the inaugural season of Saturday Smackdown!
What it is:
Each Saturday at 20 GMT (starting on July 19) for 8 weeks, two players will go head to head in a single best of 7 showmatch series. Winners will have the option, but will not be required, to play in the following week's event. Any player able to win back to back series will win 100 USD and automatically qualify for a seeded position in the cash prize Season 1 Smackdown Invitational Tournament to be played at the conclusion of Saturday Smackdown Season 1. Details for the Smackdown Tournament will be released at a later time.
Who can play:
Anyone. Simply sign-up at RTS-Sanctuary.com in that weeks sign-up topic. Sign ups will be posted on Saturday, at the conclusion of that weeks showmatch. Players will be chosen from this list and announced no later than the Wednesday prior to the match. Any player who signs up and fails to show up for the match, will be disqualified from any future matches. The first sign-up topic will be released July 5th, with the first match to be played on July 19th. Please note that for the first week of Smackdown, there will be TWO weeks for applicants to sign up. All other weeks will only have ONE week to sign up.
Where it is:
All games will be played on ESO. The games will be cast by myself and special guests each week on the Official Age of Empires Twitch Stream.
Format for the BO7 each week:
Map Rules: Each series will be played on these maps, in this order: Siberia Saguenay Mongolia Patagonia Painted Desert New England Great Plains If a map is deemed unplayable by the caster, a restart will be allowed, should it be requested by a player before the 2 minute mark of the game. Note that maps may change in following seasons, but for season 1, these will be the maps for each match. Civilization Rules: Each player is allowed to play each civilization in a winning effort only once per series. The loser of the previous game has the option of choosing his civilization second in all but the first game. If players cannot agree on a match-up for the first game, a coin flip will determine who has the option of choosing his civilization second. Example:
Game 1: Zutazuta vs Victor_swe a. Players cannot agree on a match-up. b. Zutazuta wins the coin flip. c. Victor_swe selects Japanese. d. Zutazuta selects Ottoman. e. Victor_swe loses, and thus chooses his civ last in the next game.
Game 2: Zutazuta vs Victor_swe a. Zutazuta selects Japanese. b. Victor_swe selects Iroquois. c. Victor_swe wins. d. In the next game Victor_swe picks his civ first, and may not select Iroquois, while Zutazuta may not select Ottoman. These rules are simply a formality to avoid counter-civing. Patch Rules: The official patch (RE 1.03) will be used for Smackdown Season 1. If the inaugural season of Smackdown is a success, we may consider moving to fan patch for future events. For the time being, we are looking for a patch to maintain community cohesion and RE 1.03 best provides that. Notes about Smackdown:
Although I will be running things for season 1 of Smackdown, I value all community input. Any concerns or questions regarding rules or format can be directed in my direction. I am also looking for anyone interested in helping co-cast this event. The prizes currently will be as mentioned previously, but may grow pending future sponsorship. Good luck to all participants, and keep an eye out for the first sign-up topic on July 5!

Recorded Games:
All games must be recorded in case they are needed to settle a dispute. Replays will be posted at the conclusion of the event.

The map pool for each of the BO5 series will take place on this set of maps in this order: Great Plains Saguenay Siberia New England Painted Desert
The map pool for each of the BO7 series will take place on this set of maps in this order: Great Plains Saguenay Siberia New England Painted Desert Mongolia Andes
Players will have the option to request 1 restart within the first 2 minutes of play per round due to an imbalanced map. Map imbalances that are noticed immediately as unfair by the caster are also grounds for a restart.

Each civilization may be played only one time per round, regardless of the outcome of the game that the civilization is used in.
Civilization Disputes:
In the case of either player refusing to play a certain match-up, the winning player of the previous game must choose his civilization first, and may not change having chosen it. If the dispute occurs on the first game of the series, both players will be required to play Iroquois.

As requested by the community, the AoEIII:TAD anticheat is now here! While we can't go too deep into the technical details, the goal of the anticheat is to detect, block, and automatically ban cheaters. The best place to play AoE III just got even better!
We have blocked all the cheats we had found. We will be adding more scans and detections over the next days, weeks, and months.
Going forward you will need to enable the anticheat or your game will not be rated.
Users with cheats are recommended to reinstall their game immediately or you are at risk of being banned now or the future.
Read More Here.
