How to stream with FFSplit?

The first step you need to do is create an account on http://www.twitch.tv/ .

Second step: Download and install FFSplit from http://www.ffsplit.com . Also check if you have the latest versions of these programs: VC++ Runtime 2010, DirectX and .NET Framework.

Now let's check your upload speed : http://www.bandwidthplace.com/

After you installed FFsplit, launch it and configurate it:

DirectShow Audio Source: "Default Windows Playback Device" - people will hear what you do
Microphone Source: pick your Microphone
V Bit Rate: 75%-80% of your upload speed
V Encode Preset: "ultrafast" if PC weak and connection strong - "medium" if PC fast and connection slow
V Resolution: "960x540" (540p) works well mostly*, greater only if your CPU is strong and your upload high
V Frame Rate: 20-30 FPS, depending on your connection (more don't improve viewing quality significantly)
Audio Bit Rate: 64-196kbps, depending on your connection (more don't improve audio quality significantly)

Tick the box "Stream:" and run "Setup"

Streaming Service: Twitch.tv
Server: nearest to your position
Stream key: Log into your Twitch.tv-Account, go to Broadcast, Show key, copy & paste
Press "Apply"

To start the stream push : START

Before launching a game on Vooby, make sure these 3 settings are selected:
DirectX >> Render in 32 bit color
DirectX >> Start in Window-Mode (Requires 32-bit)
DirectX >> Advanced Features >> Hide windows title bar and move window to 0px,0px

If your Video Bit Rate is lower than 750kbps you should think about choosing a lower resolution. Otherwise the picture will blur a lot when you're moving around (=playing) because not enough information can pass through.

< 1250kbps - < 540p (960x540)
1250kbps - 2500kbps - 720p (1280x720)
> 2500kbps - up to 1080p (1920x1080)

Based on swissboyy's guide.
