v 2.6

Me blue Warboss TS 16-18
Opponent red Warboss TS 20-23

Again, I thought I might be going to win this one because of power control. I think I lost in the end due to lack of caution.

If anyone can point out where I should have been more cautious would be grateful. Thanks :D :D :D

your last game you had a little bit of a slow start off but it was ok this game your doing great at the start off.

first battle should not send in 2 range vs 1 range + commander + melee
you were lucky that wasnt a squad wipe.

your sluggas at this point shouldnt have pulled back down since you knew he was mid you know he would have to backtrack if you attacked his power i would have pushed them forward to his power and either make him power starved or made him pul his army back giving time for your shootas to reinforce and regroup with your warboss.

its understandable why you lost the slugga you lost to a distraction of your warboss getting attacked its 2 battles at the same time by the time you tried to retreat your sluggas is was too late.

3:41 into the game. ok your stuck in your base losing power in this case rebuying sluggas is 1 of 2 options but more imporantly your power on the right need 3 gens asap your warboss capped his spawn vp nice then i would have hit his power you have all power nodes but it hitting it would destroy his power and let you get to t2 fast with the gen farm you do at this moment have 200 req you could buy 2 gens with. think about a quick t2 when your in a case like this and hitting hard with a deff dread.

im seeing 1 thing about your play style now first you care more about controlling all the points then your battling it is a fine strat but you are letting yourself get tossed around and it leads to not getting better against ts20+ this will not work you have to beat them in battle not in capping alone. espcially if you leave their power alone for as long as you have reasonably he hasnt gotten power yet and that will help you in the rest of this game but at the moment you too have no big power coming in which is countering that and making it not to your advantege.

now at 4:30 he has a gen farm still no gens for you now your behind in tech, squads, and controlling the field yes you have all the points almost but as long as you let him push you around your going to lose all the points quicker then you can gain them.

6 mins in your sluggas are a bit in a disadvantege of about 40 health to his sluggas but you retreat them in normal cases that is good but in this case no your shootas are right there and 2 v1 you could have wiped his squad with what health he had left yes you woulf have had 1 member left but you could have wiped it in this case you lost to being scared of losing a squad i do say there was a chance you could have lost it but making it retreat then having your shootas that close to the sluggas it spelled that you would get your shootas hurt, and thats exactly what happened as i look foward into it. keep your range at the max distance firing range when dealing with melee. you cap with warboss and have shootas move left right into an ambush now since your warboss is the only one left its easy for him to pick off with 2 squads + his WB.

again late on the t2 but your capture and his delay to get gens is what helped you get it first by 5 power.

next big battle you even the score you lost 1 slugga but killed 1 slugga + 1 shoota + his commander your in the lead now weirdboy is great but in this case you still need some army strength i would go either another slugga or truthfully either deff or stormboyz then you have a power force that will steamroll him. loota and weirdboy in this case arent helping much. ok your shootas are taking a beating your weirdboy isnt even shooting his wirdboy ill call it up to being bugged that its not though.

your weidboy always needs to be supported you almost lost it. after that it was an even battle with the nobs great choose in tank as it can kite his nobs and if he fights you nobs you can pound damage into his nobs. hes going shoota spam your weirdboy now can get its use out but knocking them back and tank killing the shootas.

bad positioning + scattered army you told alot of big hits i dont see you coming back from this with what you have left.

that was game. you need to work on battle tactics as well as timing to when to send your troops to cap and when to pull them back togetter for a fight.

you need a united army to when battles also note that you should have 1 squad capping at all times but you normally have 3/4 of your squads capping at all times unless they are being attacked. your going a little overboard on wanting points and not enough to defend your points.

Thanks Sneakyfox, i really appreciate you watching my games. I have been desperately trying to get to TS20 for quite a while and I think some of your comments on this game will really help.

i had been wondeering if I was splitting up too much to cap. I have been trying to copy the style of better players, but I seem to be only copying part of it! :)

"How to fight" is a big problem for me against higher skilled players. I just had a mirror game where I started driving back my T30 opponent getting no model losses and then he pushes back and gets model and then whole unit kills. So frustrating.

EDIT: i think this is the account of Malachi from the relicnews forums
