Thank you syra for suggesting spore mines.

This is, by far, the best I've ever done against a decent chaos player. Still have a lot to practice and learn. I didn't realize bloodletters could make themselves invincible, have to watch out for that.

I am supremely pleased by the game of monkey in the middle I got to play with that squad of heretics and my two tunnels. I might experiment with BS warriors as a holdover to tier 2. I have a feeling they will make the heretic squads more manageable.

Surprised you gave up when you did, you easily could have won that. The chaos guy made a million mistakes. At the end you should have just turned it into a capping game and let him chase you around the map. RA is all about the mobility advantage.

Some pointers - You're unit preservation is quite poor, think about retreating earlier and don't try and stand and fight a losing battle. Avoid fights you can't win.

When you saw double havoks (or even the first havok) why not take burrow armor as your first commander upgrade? You could effectively sneak your RA in and take it out of the fight. You need to plan your encounters and take advantage of what you have.

Also the thornback upgrade on the fex is hugely overrated imo, barbed strangler is my favourite - it does massive damage to everything, and suppresses and is probably the best gen basher nids have. Also while it's range is less than a pred atleast you don't get kited into oblivion when you can shoot.

Equally don't chase too far if the enemy is kiting you away, he is probably running towards something. Something you don't want to run into blindly ;)

I have a low tolerance for my own mistakes. After I've made so many, I just don't have the energy to try to make a comeback, plus it was 3 am.

I didn't realize the carnifex strangler was different than the warrior version. Last time I tried to use it, it didn't seem to be effective at all.

Then again, that was before I really understood how the game works. I'll give it another look. Thanks.

I'd watch out with the BSWB if I were you. You get a suppression platform, where 2 of 3 models stand around smoking cigarettes while the third does the work.. Also WB's have a tendency to wanna go melee instead of firing the damn thing, meaning that they need to be micro'd alot more than other races setup teams. Thirdly, as stated somewhere on another forum, you effectively disables your WB's chance for Adrenal Glands, which is just a darn shame.

All that bieng said, they can be effective. I'd probably train a litlle with 'em first before firing them up with that starngler..

On the note of handling Heretics, Termagant's your answer. Crippling shot > shoot > shoot > watch retreat in effect(or gank them with your hormas as well). CS also works well against that pesky Chaos Lord, allowing for more damage output while denying him "kill the weak".
