Ok. I have taken a lot of time to build this new feature for our website, and I hope it gets a lot of use from the community. I am now going to take some time to put together a guide on how to use this and make it simple to understand, although I already feel it is. Since this is not hooked up to the game itself, the easiest way to contact the player who is selling or buying is by using their gamertag and either: 1) C.O.D.'ing the item to them by mail if it is possible to. 2) Send the player a message on RTS-Sanctuary, or in the game by using their Gamertag, and setting up a time to meet up and commence the trade. There are two different types of sales in the RTS-Sanctuary Auction House. 1) Set Price. This is primarily used for selling materials or to sell something at a given rate. Basically, the price specified by the user is the price it will sell for. 2) Auctions. The ability to offer an item with a starting price, and let players bid for a certain amount of time for the item. Whoever has the highest bid wins. You can see my dummy Auction here Step 1. Setting your Gamertag: For every new trade or auction created, you will need to enter a topic title, and a Gamertag. Needless to say, putting your Gamertag in every trade topic you made would get very annoying very fast, so I added a new custom field to your profile where you can set your Gamertag. This way you only have to set it one time, and it will never need to be entered for any feature using your Gamertag ever again. Simply edit your gamertag in the profile settings. Step 2. Create a new trade. In this forum, rather then clicking a new topic, you will select a "New Trade" which will open up a form to fill in to explain what you are selling. You select "New Trade" whether you are selling something for a set price, or you are auctioning it to the highest bidder. Step 3. Entering a topic title. You simply need to enter a topic title like you normally would for any other topic. An example would be "Epic Items For Sale" Step 4. (optional) Enter your Gamertag into this next field if you did not follow the instructions in step one on how to input your Gamertag into your profile settings. Step 5. Enter the name of the item you wish to sell. For instance, in my dummy trade I offered a "Titans Shovel" for my item that I was auctioning off. Step 6. Item Description: This is primarly used to show the stats of the item that is for sale. In my example i gave the level that is needed to use this item, and the stats on the item itself. Step 7. Enter the quantity of item for sale: Enter how many of that particular item you are selling. If you are selling "Pine Planks" for instance, you may be selling 100, or 400 of them. This is where you let the buyers know how much you are selling. Step 8. Select the drop rate: At the moment there are only four drop rates for items, so please select the proper one: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic. Step 9. Minimum Bid (Auctions Only). If you are auctioning an item off, you need to select how much each bidder must bid above the previous bid. So if i start the bidding at 1000, and the minimum bid is 100, then the next person must bid 1100, and the following must bid 1200. Etc. Step 10. Auction Length (Auctions Only): Determines how long the auction will remain open for people to bid on the item(s) for sale. You must select the number of days and hours if it an auction (even if it is 0 for one of them) Step 11. Starting Price: If you are doing a "set price" then you enter how much you want to sell the item(s) for. If you are doing an auction then you specify the starting bid for the auction to begin with. Additional Information: Sales are programmed to close after two weeks. Auctions are programmed to close when the auction is over. The length of a sale can be changed universally, but not for one individual sale. A search feature is being worked on and should be added soon. Any suggestions are welcome, or any advice on how to make this feature more useful. |

QUOTE(The_Termin8tor @ Aug 20 2011, 04:03 AM) How can u buy any of this stuff when the seller doesn't say what server he is selling on.... Or am I just having a dumb blonde moment here? You need to be on the same server, and RTS-Sanctuary officially supports Marathon. |
