Voobly announces partnership with World Series of Video Games

The World Series of Video Games WSVG and Voobly have announced today a partnership deal for the next 3 (three) years. The partnership will cover the organization of live events and co-hosted online championships, for Microsoft’s Age of Empires 2 and Age of Mythology games. With this partnership, World Series of Video Games becomes a sponsor of all of Voobly’s competitions and events.

This agreement will enhance the position in the gaming market for both companies.

The World Series of Video Games, which has recently announced its worldwide re-launch,will supply infra-structure and equipments required for these gaming events and will support all online championships and live streamings. One of the main goals of the partnership is to increase the online and offline audiences for Age of Empires 2 and Age of Mythology games.

Despite the fact that both these games were launched more than a decade ago, they still have a massive community of dedicated gamers and fans that play competitively, on a daily basis.

Voobly, which is the leading company in Age of Empires championships, features more than $100.000,00 (one hundred thousand) US Dollars prize money per season, thanks to generous sponsors, and host many smaller community contributed tournaments on a regular basis for professional and casual age of empires 2 gamers.

More information about the championships, being planned by WSVG and Voobly, will be disclosed soon.

Good news to all players and fans out there!

How do you expect voobly to support AOE3 when you play the game in ESO2 and not in voobly. The amount of players playing AOE3 in voobly is (average) 40, so they do not really care.

the have cheat protection, active administrators, ratings, they do not have connectivity issues and still people are not using voobly (mostly because they are used to ESO2 and they do not want to change), why should voobly risk for a stubborn community? :P
That's how I see it at least.

All fair points, but having an in-built multiplayer platform is quite a factor apparently.
At this point ESO2 is more of a liability than an advatange for the community. But if MS cares about anything it is keeping alive the platform that gives use to steam sales.

Btw, Voovly has the same connettivity issues of ESO but they explain slightly better how to fix it. Still I have problems with certain users even after port forwarding. Maybe the problem is on their side.

AOE3 has its own lobby in voobly, which means that you can play AOE3 in voobly!
About AOE2, there are about 2300 people online (peak) 1600 average I would say. You do not need AOE2HD to play in voobly and I think you cannot play with that, you just need to download AOE2 + Conquerors (a copy of that)!!

What voobly needs to do is take a leap of faith, they need to host a well organised tournament for aoe3 with cash prizes, a tournament to be played on voobly. That way a lot of the good players will make the voobly account and have easier access to other good players that have also created an account.

All they have to do at voobly is look at what was achieved by pk clan in regards to receiving donations and size of applicants. I would speak on but research says men only pay attention to a post for 55 seconds on average and i feel might have surpassed that(studies based on attention span).

I don't think there will be ever such huge cash prizes for AoE3 on Voobly. At least not if ESO is still running. Maybe if ESO shuts down (unfortunately) there is a chance Voobly will do this.
I don't think there is a big chance though.
