I have got my old laptop with loads of crap on it, i just wanted to do a full system reinstall to get rid of all the crud on it an start fresh. But i cant find the disc. My comp is vista originally bu i got the windows 7 upgrade. What can i do to get rid of all the crap off my comp and restore it to how it was when i got it? Is the only solution buying a new sytem disc and installing this? (where can i get windows 7 32 bit for the best price?) |

Download a bootable Windows 7 32 bit DVD Image. And you need to find your win7 key which is printed on the case of the update disc to perform a legal Installation. The windows vista key alternatively should be somewhere on your case, but you can only install windows vista with it. Burn the disc and boot from it, be sure to format your os parition - you can do after you booted the dvd. |

QUOTE(HailToTheViper @ Apr 22 2011, 08:51 AM) Yea, but there are ways to retrieve it from the installed windows. download this: winguggle, in case the link doesnt work its called WinGuggle and run it. It finds your product key, so you can write it down. I actually tested it and it seems to work, at least the first two blocks a 4 letters are correct, the rest of the key on my laptop is unreadable. Be sure to also check the correct version in case you dont know it (home premium, professioncal....) |

Download all drivers for your laptop hardware before you format your HDD and copy/save them to another HDD if you do not have them on an extra disc imo. |
