Apologies to not bring this one up sooner.

Revora forums have a full walk-through for installation for each of:
Battle for Middle Earth
Battle for Middle Earth II
Battle for Middle Earth: Rise of the Witch King.

While T3A allows for full online functionality as though the gamespy servers were still up and running!

Check it out

It's still Good game. 2000-2010 when there was a lot money, drive put into develop and sell RTS games. Lord of the rings. It's one the biggest movie productions ever under Avatar, Avengers and titanic. You can still pick up it give you good experience. If the game age well with new mods and updates. Otherwise bugs, technical support or broken ballance could kill it for a veteran. But worth shot. :).WAR OF THE RING(RISK) The board game. I'm pretty sure it's not changed much. It's got dedicated fan base, from the books.
