I bought Dawn of War and Winter Assault yesterday, and I haven't even managed to play two missions of the single player campaign through yet, because I feel it's currently unplayable.

The following type of help box appears no matter what I do:

http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n284/Ju.../relic00001.jpg
http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n284/Ju.../relic00000.jpg

It appears when I build, set rally points, attack, and so on, which means it pops up virtually hundreds of times each game. It also appears in multiplayer online games. How can this be acceptable? It is not. I'm a veteran RTS player and this is the first game ever where I've encountered a permanent tutorial mode you can't get rid of. So does anyone have any ideas how to remove it? Yes I've played through the one tutorial mission and it does nothing to the problem.

What I'm most astounded by is that after posting this to relic forums, a lot of people said they've always got it too, but just don't care. How can a player not care that each time he clicks a command with his keyboard, or selects to make a building with mouse or keyboard, a black box flashes in the middle to block his view and make the game less of an enjoyable experience? I do care, and I ask for your help, because if this can't be removed I have to uninstall permanently.

Thank you.

In fact You're right. Is annoying, I' searched in options to disable this "feature", but gave up, and later get used to it :(

i didn't even notice that stuff still comes up, i suppose when you play the game enough and can place buildings / rallies in less than a second it kinda just flashes and you don't even notice it

Well I've been stuck playing starcraft and warcraft for almost a decade now.

So no ideas how to remove the box so far?

I posted this question to DoW Sanc and Relic Forums about a month ago. It's not possible - the popup box is likely wired into the game's source code.

Doesn't changing the help level in the options menu get rid of it?

Haha, if you are THAT annoyed by this (something I hounestly never even notice, I think Ojak is right, if you are fast you just dont see it...) I suggest you just stop right here. Things will escalate from here and if you are that easily annoyed I see you exploding all over the place after one week.

The game is great tho....

that box is almost unnoticiable. the problem is the "u dont have enought req to that" box, that simply shows up the entire game.

I don't mind the "not enough req" box. I just think the attack-move box is retarded, since it's a basic RTS operation people do hundreds of times during a game. We don't need a help message about it! A simple change in the shape of the cursor would be quite sufficient.

Exactly. It's a huge oversight by Relic.

Huge? :D It's just a box.. I don't notice them at all anymore tbh. As Thor said, if those things bug you, keep playing and you'll find a whole bunch of crap that'll bug you ^^;;
