How do you download and watch the expert replays from this site. Feel free to call me a noob, as long as you answer my question!

Thanks!

For Replays played on Patch, u need voobly, download recorded games, place them in Savegame folder, run normal game from voobly with patch loaded, u can set it to start at single player from the settings, and run the replays.
Cheers!

Thank you for this help but I am still having issues. I am saving the files in the savegame folder, but when I run the replay the villagers just stand idle. I have tried altering the patch that I am running and that still doesn't fix it. Any ideas what could be going on? When I download a replay I click saveas and save it as a .rcx file in my downloads folder. I then transfer the file from the dowloads folder to the aot savegame folder. Sorry for the noob questions.

Make sure u are running the correct patch of the game running, also u have Official Patch installed, other than that I am not a very big expert in these things so maybe a staff or someone who knows about this can help you. :)

There aren't many high level recs for EE available. Things that were posted after the last (2.6) update back in May should work fine, you may be able to go back to older versions by using the betas tab in the game properties in Steam. I don't know whether those work after the DRM changes that came in 2.5/2.6.

You absolutely cannot watch games that were recorded with Voobly/CD versions though: the game either kicks up a fuss and says the game is invalid (as EE's rcx format is VERY different to the old one, it was changed around 2.0) or things stop happening a short time into the game. The only way that's ever going to be possible is if someone were to obtain/reverse the file format specs and write something that converts them - Skybox almost certainly have this and may be able to share if they so wanted, but getting anything out of them is going to be exciting.
