Vsync works for single player but not for online multiplayer. What vsync does is that it synchronize the FPS of your gpu with what your monitor can handle. -First, start Steam and go to Settings, then click "In-Game" and under "In-game FPS counter" select "Top-left". -Start EE and join a multiplayer game, you'll notice that the your FPS is way above your 60Hz monitor(60hz meaning your monitor can only handle 60fps). Basically all those frames are being wasted, causing your gpu to overheat and reducing the life span of it. -Next, check the label on the back of your monitor to confirm it's a 60Hz monitor. -Here's a program I just started using called Nvidia Profile Inspector v2.1.3.2, this program will cap your frames at 60fps. NVidia_Profile_Inspector_v2.1.3.20.zip ( 127.18k ) Number of downloads: 73 You can also download the program from here: https://www.asylab.com/single-post/2018/03/...Inspector-21320 -When you start the program, at the top enter a profile name("AoM: EE").... --->Find Frame Rate Limiter and change it to 60Hz --->Then click Apply change in the upper right hand corner --->Launch EE, go to settings and turn off Vsync. ---> Now try multiplayer, you'll notice the FPS is capped at 60fps. This will probably help JJ more than it helps others because his cpu and gpu are combined into one unit..... curious how this will improve his game play. On the topic of increasing performance. Do you know what causes or how to fix the -- can't directly connect with player. Reroute through...? I tend to get that often. |

sorry, no idea but it's probably due to routers not configured correctly or isp issues. |

Ok thanks. I had a feeling something with my router but I'm borderline illiterate so it's hard for me. |

QUOTE(TOAO_ChronoJJ @ May 17 2018, 10:36 AM) Have you tried bypassing the launcher? When I launch through Steam Library (so not shortcut) I have an option to launch with it or without. |

JJ, did you turn on the FPS counter in Steam, how many frames were you getting in online multiplayer? Try downloading the link directly from the website, here's the link: https://ci.appveyor.com/api/buildjobs/on2rk...leInspector.zip Edit: maybe something does load and you're not aware of it... did you change the Frame limiter to 60Hz and click apply change? Edit: if you can't figure it out, then try doing it Nakamura way: This post has been edited by LNC_GoldenAxe: May 17 2018, 10:14 AM |

The game loads fine. That program doesn't. Nothing comes up. I did frame check and it's doing 70-80 fps. I'll try the thing in naka's video |

Silly question, but are you running AoM on an NVidia card? Given the name it wouldn't be all that surprising if it didn't work when you're running an AMD card... |
