I have encountered the following problem: As I save my games in-game after I played them, I am not able to see them in the Playback folder (yes I'm in the right folder my documents/mygames/dow2 etc. etc.). Also, when I download games from DoWS and paste them into the (CORRECT) folder, I somehow don't see them in-game, really weird. Anyone knows what I am doing wrong or if this is a known error? |

they come in zip format, you need to unzip them, or extract the file. |

Robo, the not seeing of this that might has something to do with the versions of patches etc., I am actually quite sure it is... maybe you should insert a version function for the replays (same as with AgeS which has it too for Age of Empires 3). |

Yeah I just posted about this in the replay forum thread. DOW has always had an issue where you can't watch games from an earlier patch version. They released a small bug fix patch on steam and apparently that has stopped you being able to view games from before the patch (I am sure this is the case because all the games i could see pre-patch have now vanished). The annoying thing is that they haven't changed the patch version of the game (still 1.1.1) so you have no easy way of distinguishing them. Luckily I had just left the game identifier as DOW II for release so I will add in DOW II 1.1.1 now. Games with an identifier of DSII_7 and above should be ok |

So that means you have like... a serious problem if it stops every time you from watching old replays :p |

it's always happened when they patched the game in the past .. just that patches used to be few and far between. I'm hoping that every minor bug fix they do isn't going to ruin all the old replays because that will be a real pain. At least in the past you could have a version of the game installed and only patch it as far as you wanted so that you could watch old replays .. with this steam system you can't even launch the game unless it completes all the patching :( |

Not really you atleast now know which replays you don't need to download as you can't watch them anymore, and probably useless because the tactics have already changed due to new patch nerfs/buffs/fixes. |

I wonder if someone can help me, I have had problems downloading games from Sanc since I installed some kind of unzipping program and it changed a setting in Firefox I think. When I click on a saved game it tells me that there has been an error and I should try and save it rather than opening it, but there is no option to do this. I am sure there is a setting in FF but I have no idea where despite looking. It works fine with IE so I am sure it is a FF problem. Any help greatly appreciated. |
