I'd like to know how much your uni costs a year and how many years you have to follow.

Seems like going to uni is not a good option in many countries.

too much

well if you're really bright and you do engineering or medicine ofc it's worth going to uni but if you're taking a pretty basic course there is many options that dont involve uni that can be successful

Pretty the same for me. Students with a high votes average or students with a pretty low money income have to pay less.

The uni is free here in Norway, you have to pay a tax for the student card that proves you are a student. It cost around 30-40 euros, but you have to buy the books yourself, they are atleast 1300 euros.

And you get a loan from the gouverment too pay rent and food when you study, pretty good.

£3000+ a year in tuition fees (although this will be going up to £9000 in the next few years) + however much I have to pay for rent/food/books and all that jazz. My student loan covers most of it and I also get a small government grant, a smaller grant from my uni and a bit from my mum :D

I'm in my second year of a 3 year degree. My mum told me I won't be able to afford to do a masters, but I'm not sure that I wanted to anyway.

I think I get some money from the government to pay the rent too, but never bothered finding out how to get them (and it would get cut soon anyway, with the government we have 11)

If I go a year later I'll have to pay 3x as much.

Let's hope I get the grades this year.

W/o scholarship it will be 18000 for tuition+room not including books. Then after 4 years I'll go to grad school which will probably cost around 40,000 dollars a year

Around here, some of the public universities (not community college, which can be like $7,000-$16,000 year on average, I think) are around $12,000-$20,000. Some of the better private universities range anywhere from $26,000-$45,000. The education is better at the more expensive ones, obviously, and you have a higher standard of living for the most part. You also get huge grants/scholarships if you're smart; otherwise you're paying the full amount.

For the community colleges, there are actually some pretty scammy ones that are relatively high-priced for not so great of job placement and education...for a lot the 'guaranteed job placement' that they offer you is a store clerk at Office Max :boxed:

There are a whole lot of reasons to choose one or the other, but in the end they're all pretty expensive

Oh, and all those numbers are for books, meal plan, room and board, and tuition, except for the community colleges since a lot of times there isn't even a student housing option. Also, all those numbers...they're year ;)

From my experience of looking around Minnesota^, I'm sure the numbers vary a bit depending on where you go in the country too :)

(not to mention, going to university/college out of state can sometimes be up to 2x the price of reciprocity [instate] tuition, which is what all those numbers above are for)

Edit: Oh, and all those numbers, they're for undergraduate credits :o
