Oh a curiosity, can you tell me how much money do you use to spend to buy/colour a new unit? Thanks

ah well, dont even ask for prices if you are interested in playing WH, the TT fans hate their "benefactor" even more than the DoW players Relic ^^

Ok, seriously, this miniature costs 10 ?/$, one pot of color costs 2,50 ? but is very fertile, i'd say the paint on one miniature cost not more than 1 ? (although you have to have a good choice of different colors), time is the most expensive factor, i needed a couple of hours to paint this one, dont know exactly how much. If you buy plastic troops boxes, they are by far cheaper, a third of a metall model like this approximately.

Wow, I didn't knew there was a tabletop for this game.. But nice paintings, you should rather do some artistic painting with sculptures, rather than a hobby or work with Dawn of War.

Mhh well, there wasnt that much request after i showed the first pictures so i dropped that for a while, perhaps i will make a thread concerning that later.

But you are right, we have to play some dowPro, i play too less in general ^^

@perser84: unfortunately i didnt have the opportunity to paint some csm until know, but i guess i will paint some after finishing my ulthwé army. If you want, i will paint one for you, of course for a small fee ;)

If it is that cheaper i'll soon buy some csm stuff for sure, i'm a good paintere normally, so i think that painting this will be quite easy for me, do you have any hints for beginners?
Thanks in advance.

If you are used to work with a brush, you have a solid base, the most important general things in my opinion are:

1. Be patient! This is the most important! paint carefully and take some time to finish difficult areas, perhaps even try them elsewhere before you apply the paint on your miniature and never give up! You should always work that way, no matter if painting whole armys or just one miniature, be patient in every thing you do!The first minis are the hardest, but i promise you will be really proud if you manage to finish them.

2. Place your miniatures where you can see them! So you can keep your motivation (which is the most limiting factor sometimes ^^)!

3. Play the game! There are some very nice playmodes which can be played with just a couple of miniatures and which make a lot of fun (Kill Team or 40k in 40 Min) There is nothing which could make you prouder than seeing YOUR guys in battle (even if they loose which can also be very funny ^^)

4. Grab a veteran who can help and advice you, but be careful, there are many stange guys around playing warhammer ;)

Those tips are more philosophical perhaps, but always keep them in mind

If you got your first miniatures, i could write a little how-to for you which shows the steps you should follow, im just starting some new miniatures, so i will make some fotos to explain exactly what i mean.

Yes, i mean, i know the tecniques of painting because i'm used to paint, but i dunno what to do when i buy the first miniature, i'm sure there are some tricks before going straight to paint it

Actually the bloodthirster you see is Khorne's greatest general a uniquely powerful one (actually i think he is the one Gabriel unleashed in the end of DOW), if anyone plays necrons in the TT he can basically bitchslap a Ctan.
