http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,23845865-23109,00.html They can see everything with these scanners. That includes the sex organs, and any implants you may have had. I think that this is taking security way too far. I'm sure a lot of people don't appreciate just how invasive these scanners are. They might feel better about the 'harmless' scan than having a pat down, and thus just agree to be scanned out of ignorance/convenience. Well, perhaps they should read that article. And it is claimed that there is no way to transmit data off these machines. Yeah right - some unscrupulous employee will find a way sooner or later. |

I am not a fan of this at all. Not that I could even afford to fly with the skyrocketing jet fuel prices. |

I say that as long as I have the option of using it or not, it's fine. Personally, I'm happy to walk through it if it speeds up airport lines even a little bit. I suppose it also adds a tiny bit of security to the whole process (though most people intent on hijacking the plane will probably opt out of being scanned). Again, as long as its optional, I think it's fine. As soon as they make something like that mandatory, I think you will have a big uproar about it. |

I love how americans always talking about how they are the land of the free and how the terrorists will not hurt their great democracy. Next thing you know can't even get on an plane without people taking a look at your di ck. |

I heard about this a long time ago too. Once they get up comfortable to this form of invasive technology they will introduce something worse. We have cameras in California that will take a picture of your license plate if you get through a red light the least bit. They have these in New York too. Then you get a fine in the mail 6 weeks later for like $300.00 I heard you Australians are being required by law to use CFL's, the light bulbs. Communists lol. |

^^well, if you read the 'osama wins' post, I say exactly that. as soon as you cannot walk onto a plane wearing a transformers shirt, the terrorists have already won. probably not a fair statement to say, "Americans always talking about..." there are quite a few of us and we have some pretty good variety in our opinions. that being said, it is a fact that we have as much as if not more freedom than many if not most other countries in the world. unfortunately, some of our freedoms are being chipped away at (partially because of things like terrorism) but we can still do basically what we want when we want it and not have interference from the government. We have total freedom of religion, speech, et. |
