The Conquerors Downloads

The application "AOE II TC W7 color FIX" was created to handle the problem of scrambled screen colors when playing Age of Empires II The Conquerors under the Microsoft Windows 7 (also works under
the Vista system, but should be "Run as administrator").

The zip file includes the instructions required to use the program. Just extract the contents to a subdirectory in your AOE II install (or the main directory if you prefer) and run AOE II TC W7 color FIX.exe.

What the application does is watch for the age2_x_1.exe to run and then it either suspends or kills the explorer.exe process depending on the option you choose. When the game finishes it either resumes or restarts explorer.exe. If you are using this with the AOC widescreen mod then please be aware that this utilty requires your AOC executable to be named in its original form as age2_x_1.exe.
